Getting to Spark Studio

The address is 1001 17th Street, at the bottom of Potrero Hill. It’s the ground floor space, so just knock on the door and you’ll be let in.

By Car: Most parking spots are 2-4 hour, but if you’re lucky, you may find one with no time limit. Plan to leave some time to find parking, since it can take a bit of searching during the day. Nights aren’t so bad.

By Bus: Take the 22 Fillmore to Connecticut & 17th. Walk .2 miles.

By Muni: Take the T Third Street train to Mariposa & Third. Walk .4 miles.

Cancellation Policy

Spark Studio is small and special. Once you register, we buy materials and reserve a spot just for you. Because of that, Spark Studio has a 2 week cancellation policy. We will happily refund 100% of your class fee or give you credit for a future class, as long as you notify us 2 weeks before the class begins. We cannot offer refunds or credits for missed days due to unforeseen circumstances or scheduling conflicts. To cancel or re-book, just email us at hello@sparkstudiosf.com. If the studio has to cancel a class, you will receive a refund or credit - your choice.

Class Minimums + Private Classes

Spark Studio’s set up is BYOG (Bring Your Own Group) so you’ll be creating and catching up with friends at the same time. BONUS! Group organizer gets 50% off for one student for groups of 4 or more participants.

Spark Studio has 3 types of fee structures: Standard Class (4+ participants), Semi-Private Class (2-3 participants - more individualized attention), and Private Class (one on one individualized attention). Standard Class fees are listed along with class descriptions. Semi-Private Class fees are 1 1/2 times Standard Class fees. Private Class fees are twice Standard Class fees.

Payment For Classes

You can pay using PayPal (hello@sparkstudiosf.com), check or cash. In order to keep your spot in a class or for the class to take place, payment for classes by ALL participants must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the first class or workshop.

Travel Fees

If travel + transporting of supplies is required, a fee of $100 per class will be added if the location is within San Francisco. Fees for longer travel will need to be discussed.

What to Expect and What to Wear

Instructions and demos happen in the beginning of class, so please try your hardest to be on time. Afterwards there will be plenty of time to work on your projects. If you need to leave early, no problem.

Keep in mind...If you come with an idea, you’ll have more time to work on your project. If you’d rather wait and get inspired in class, that’s totally fine too! There will be lots of books (and Carrie - who’s full of ideas and experience) to help.

Wear warm clothes. The studio can get chilly. Aprons will be available, but you might also want to wear clothes you don’t care about - especially for classes that involve paint.

Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates make great gifts! Send an email  to hello@sparkstudiosf.com, so we can get the details and process your request. Make sure to let us know the amount you’d like to spend, the name and address of the recipient, and Spark Studio will gladly send it out. If you’re the lucky recipient of a gift certificate, just email hello@sparkstudiosf.com when you’re ready, so we can register you for a class.

Permission to Use Photographs

We love sharing beautiful moments that happen during classes and events held by Spark Studio, and often take photos and/or videos to document and promote our services. We understand that some people prefer their image, or their child’s image, not be shared on social media or promotional materials. To avoid any complications that might arise, we ask for your permission, in advance, to use this type of imagery. If you are fine with our using your or your child’s photos, please sign the Photo Release Form and either bring it with you on the first day of class or the event, or email it to hello@sparkstudiosf.com before the class or event begins.

If you are NOT ok with our using your or your child’s imagery, please let us know beforehand so we can arrange seating accordingly and/or not include these photos in our social media and promotional materials.
