Adult Classes
Taking an art class with Spark Studio is a great way for teams, friends and individuals to connect to themselves and each other through making art.
Classes are for all levels, so you’ll feel comfortable and encouraged to bring out your inner maker. All you need to bring is some curiosity and a willingness to experiment, and you’ll go away with a new skill and a cool piece of art that you made!
Spark Studio's set up is BYOG (Bring Your Own Group), so you'll be creating and catching up with coworkers and friends at the same time. BONUS! Group organizer gets 50% off for one student for groups of 4 or more participants. Anyone from age 14+ can take these classes. If you're looking for more focused, one on one attention, private classes are also a great option. Private Class fees are twice Standard Class fees.
Knowing how busy life gets, I prefer to fit creativity into your schedule, so contact me to set up a class time. Classes can be taken as one-time workshops or in a series. One time workshops last 2 hours and series classes last 1½ hours and can run for as many weeks as you'd like. Don’t see what you’re looking for? I'm always up for brainstorming to customize a class. Say Cheese (Board)!

Design a Gold-Leaf Bowl!
In this class you’ll be designing a beautiful bowl using a gold paint pen. It’s a perfect place to put jewelry, snacks, keys...whatever your heart desires! You’ll end up with a sense of accomplishment, a reminder of the power of your own creativity, and a lovely and useful piece of art!

It’s Clock Making Time!
Time flies when you’re having fun making your very own custom wood clock! Make a mid-century inspired clock or design your own. You’ll leave with a clock that will brighten your home and help keep you punctual at the same time…Fingers Crossed!

Design Your Own Block Printed Bag!
Design, carve, print...Voilá! Create your very own custom-designed printing block, and then…Print away! In this class, you’ll learn the technique of block printing, and you’ll leave with a super cool cloth bag that you can parade around town!

Design Your Personal Symbol and Print It!
When you think of yourself, what are the qualities that stand out? In this class you’ll first identify those qualities, then use metaphor to convert them into a singular symbol that expresses your essence. Once you’ve designed your symbol, you’ll translate the image into a stamp, and print it onto a set of notecards.

Make a Lavender-filled Relaxation Mask!
Ready to relax? Not yet! First, you need to make a relaxation mask! In this class, you’ll make a simple stamp and print it on fabric. Next, you'll fill your mask with lavender, and finally, sew it together. Guaranteed to calm your nervous system. Just promise not to fall asleep until you get home!

Tell Your Story with Collage!
In this class you’ll be using collage to tell your story in any way that’s relevant to you. Think of it as a visual autobiography. Choose a significant event or events in your life, or describe what makes you YOU. Feel free to be literal or metaphorical. It’s also a great chance for team members to gain insight into each other, since sharing can be part of the process. Greater personal understanding and trust transfer to stronger and more productive teams.

Create a Vision Board
This class is about identifying what brings you joy and fills your spirit, and making a collage based on those things. Your collage might also include things you hope for in the future. Creating a physical expression of what fulfills the deepest parts of you, and what you want to bring into your life, your work or as a member of your team, serves as a reminder of what makes you feel whole and content.

Abstract Collage
In this class you’ll be making a non-representational collage. Abstraction is quite freeing because it comes from a place inside of you rather than from something realistic, where you might tend to compare. Think shapes, pattern, color, texture, feeling and surrealism. Anything goes!

Paint an Intention Target!
Ready to get what you want from your life and your work? The first step is to paint an intention target! It’s amazing how opportunities present themselves and wishes materialize once you set your intention. Super helpful for getting personal clarity, as well as focus and direction for corporate teams. Vision Painting for Couples (even for family members and friends!)
Relationships at all stages need check ins. It’s important to take time to remember what brought you together and to discover new aspects of each other. Vision Painting helps connect you on a deep level. By first writing your values, wishes and goals for your relationship, then painting what comes to mind, you’ll make a visual reminder of what being in partnership means to each of you. You’ll end up with a clearer picture (literally!) of connection - both to yourself and to your partner. You’ll also learn a variety of watercolor techniques - an activity you can continue to do together that’s relaxing and fun!

Painting from the Heart
In this act-before-you-think class, you’ll be expressing what’s inside of you out onto paper. The focus is more about the process of getting in touch with your intuition and your inner world, and less about the outcome. Be prepared for powerful discoveries about yourself and how you can use art as a tool for deeper understanding. You’ll learn a variety of watercolor techniques and will also learn exercises designed to help you see, loosen up and focus on the process of painting. No experience necessary.

In this class, you’ll be painting an object or series of objects from nature. You’ll learn a variety of watercolor techniques and will also learn exercises designed to help you see, loosen up and focus on the process of painting. No experience necessary.

Dictionary Painting
Dictionaries are a great place to get creative inspiration. Choose a word or an illustration from the dictionary, and paint your own interpretation directly onto the page. It’s that easy and super fun! No prior painting or drawing experience necessary.

Expand Your Drawing Skills in 8 Classes!
In this 8 class series, you’ll be expanding your skills and knowledge of drawing. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, this class can be customized to your (or your group’s) level. We will work on Perspective, 3-D Rendering, Portraits, Still Life, Abstract Composition and learn exercises to help you loosen up and draw what you see.

Expand Your Painting Skills in 8 Classes!
In this 8 class series, you’ll be expanding your skills and knowledge of painting with watercolors. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, you’ll learn a variety of techniques. We will work on Painting Objects from Nature, Abstract Composition, Still Life, and Color Theory. The class can also be customized to your (or your group’s) level and/or areas or interest.

A fast growing succulent you’ll never have to water? It’s true! In this class, you’ll needle felt an adorable wool succulent, which you’ll “plant” in a pot to brighten your home. This class can be taken in a series, where you’ll make a different succulent each time.

Needle Felt Your Pet!
What could possibly be cuter than the pet who fills your life with joy? Give up? A miniature needle felted version! Whether your pet is alive or not (snif), having a felted version is a wonderful way to keep your loving companion close by.

(A)Mend Your Holey Sweater!
Bring your beloved, old wool or cashmere sweater back to life with the miracle of needle felting! No holes? No worries! Sweaters of all ages are welcome. Bonus x three! You’ll learn a new skill, your custom sweater will be 100 times cooler than it was before, and you’ll give your sweater a whole new life! Talk about a miracle!

Make a Ceramic Wall Hanging!
In this class you’ll be making ornaments out of air dry clay - a clay that dries on its own without a kiln. It’s a great opportunity to experiment with textures and shapes, and benefit from the therapeutic effects of working with your hands. Once the ornaments are dry, you’ll hang them from a stick and end up with a beautiful piece of art!

Paper Cherry Blossoms
Nothing says bright and fresh like cherry blossoms in the Spring. Now they can brighten up your house all year ‘round! In this class you’ll be making paper cherry blossoms and attaching them to real branches. Spring without the sneezes? It’s true!

Make a Papier Mâché Bowl!
In this 2-part class you’ll be making a super cool bowl out of papier mâché - one of the oldest art forms on this planet! In the first class you’ll make the actual bowl. Once it’s dry, you’ll come back for the second class to paint your bowl and turn it into a work of art! Fun x 2!
